THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN!!!
It’s official! The original line up of the Steve Thomas band is back together! First of all we want to send out a big thank you to Mike Rice, Brian Mikulich, Mike Jacobetz, Tamika Pierson, and Grant Bacon. Thank you for helping us to keep the band performing through all the changes over the last several years. Not only are you great musicians but you are great friends!
When we had our first rehearsal 7 1/2 years ago we knew something special was being born. I had played separately with Scott and Marc in different bands and Scott and Gabe had played together but the four of us had never played together before. Usually when you have a rehearsal with people you’ve never played with before you prepare yourself to run over the same song a few times till it’s right. Well we blasted through 10 songs that night and each time it was the same. One time through each song and it was ready for the stage. The real kicker was when we ran through “Tom Sawyer” the first time without any mistakes! I remember after that rehearsal thinking “wow! this band can do anything!”.
A couple months ago we scheduled two reunion concerts. We thought we should rehearse before the first show since we all hadn’t played together in a couple years. The rehearsal ended up mostly being an excuse to eat green chili that Marc’s wife Christie had made. The chemistry was still fully intact. We did the two concerts and the response was overwhelming. We saw a lot of old friends we hadn’t seen in a while as well as people who had never seen the original line up of the band before. Everyone was saying the same thing. “We want this band to play again!”.
Well I’m happy to announce we feel the same way. Scott, Marc, Gabe and I are very excited to be making music together again! You can count on us doing old trademark tunes like “Carry On Wayward Son” and “Tom Sawyer”, but this is also a new chapter in our history. We’re very excited to do new things with this band and we want you to be a part of it. Thank you so much for your support!
